Other Professional Activities

  • Was interviewed by Engineering News Record (ENR) in February 2012 as the PM and Overall Designer of Record (DOR) for the IHNC-Seabrook Sector Gate complex project. [ Video link]

  • Represented ARCADIS in the May 2009 edition of Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology: http://www.diversitycareers.com/articles/pro/09-aprmay/tech_update_engineers.htm#OPPORTUNITIES

  • In February 2010, delivered a presentation at Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) to demonstrate the engineering capability of our group and briefed the LADOTD technical and management leaders about recent challenging and significant projects that ARCADIS has worked on.

  • Developed a load rating procedure for existing and the new bridges based on Load and Resistance Factor Rating. In 2005, when this procedure was developed, commercial software like CONSPAN was not able to perform bridge rating in Inventory and Operating Level.

  • As a graduate research assistant at North Carolina State University, developed new and efficient finite element-based theory and analytical tools for wave propagation analysis. The new tools are applicable in analyzing the behavior of acoustic and transient elastic waves through different media. The innovative part of the new methodology was in defining generalized absorbing boundary conditions for finite-element models Research work was sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

  • Assisted engineering faculty members in teaching several graduate and undergraduate-level classes. Trained undergraduate and graduate students about finite element modeling on ANSYS, SAP 2000, and other commercial packages.
